My challenge for 2012 is to create (or finish) a jewelry project each week for the whole year.
I
have so many ideas of designs I'd like to try - taken from websites,
magazines, e-books, and many pictures I've accumulated of designs that
caught my eye. Right now I have a list of 100 projects I want to do -
and I haven't even started adding projects from my jewelry magazines.
I
also have a box (or two) of unfinished jewelry projects and
randomly-bought beads that I fell in love with but have never completely
formed what the design will be. It seems that I get a bit crazy when I
go to the bead store - all those colours and sparkly crystals, my mind
goes into overload with ideas for designs I'd like to do!
Part
of my challenge is to try new techniques and working with colour
palettes outside my norm. I am sure everyone has their own "colour
favourites" - those ones you are always drawn to work with. So I'm going
to try to add some jewelry in oranges and browns and greens! I just
started working with bead stitching and its a great way to start working
with all those many, many types and colours of seedbeads.
So
my challenge is to set aside time each week to work on a project and
hopefully have 52 (or more) new pieces of jewelry by the end of 2012!
Hopefully
this will also encourage you to make more beautiful jewelry this year.
I'd love to see your designs and talk about your projects!
Laurie
